Katrina Logan is a registered architect in Victoria (ARBV) with experience in residential, hospitality, museums, education, heritage and interior architecture. Since beginning her Melbourne practice in 2000 (Katrina Logan Architects), Katrina has established an impressive body of work across a number of design platforms. Her internationally recognised LUMI Rainwater Tank received a Premiers Design Award and was instrumental in the uptake of the rainwater tanks in Australian cities in 2007.
LOGAN STUDIO is Katrina Logan's new practice bringing together architecture, design and design strategy with a focus on sustainability, adaptive re-use and extended life-cycle building.
Katrina's architectural practice is founded on rigorous study at Prahran Art School (majoring in sculpture) and RMIT (Bachelor of Architecture), followed by a period of exploration in India and Germany, where she worked directly under renowned contributor to sustainable architecture B. V. Doshi and post-structuralist architect Daniel Libeskind. Further, Katrina brings to LOGAN STUDIO twenty years post-graduate experience in private practice and as a contractor at a number of high profile architectural firms.
Katrina is actively involved in the profession as both practitioner and educator and has taught Design, Sustainable Design, Construction Technology and Professional Practice at Swinburne and Melbourne Universities. She also runs life drawing classes and undertakes pro-bono projects in her local community.
